Give a Gift and Make a Difference
Membership dues and donations are helpful in preserving Kankakee County history. We receive a small amount of tax money from the Kankakee Valley Park District, which pays for the wages of 1 1/2 of our six staff members—the rest is up to us.
We sit on KVPD land and have a wonderful museum campus. Our team is growing due to our volunteer help and innovative ideas to raise funds. Without your support, we could not preserve the county’s history.
Preserving Kankakee County History Since 1906
There are always new opportunities to explore, learn, reflect, and have fun. Your gift can help visitors of all ages explore and discover the county's rich history. Gift descriptions below are examples of the types of projects your gift might support. They can be designated for any specific purpose. Note: charitable gifts are tax deductible.
Making a memorial donation of any size to the Kankakee County Historical Society is a great way to honor someone in the community. Donating a portion of your estate to a nonprofit organization, such as the Kankakee County Historical Society, can be a way to leave a legacy and support an organization that has special meaning to you.
If you are in the process of completing or updating your estate documents, please consider making a bequest to the Kankakee County Historical Society.
